DIAMOND is a loving twelve year old yellow spayed female Labrador Retriever who was discarded at the Downey Shelter on July 7th. Weighing seventy-one pounds, Diamond pulls a bit on leash but she is well socialized and easily handled. She is amiable, gets along fine with other dogs and will probably do best with mature children who are able to respect her age. Diamond still has plenty of pep in her step and is a lovely indoor pet for an individual or family living in a private home.

SPIKEY is a kind thirteen year old black male Chow Chow who was abandoned at the Downey Shelter on June 30th because his former owners moved and made no provision for their faithful dog. Weighing approximately forty pounds, this gentleman walks excellently on leash and we believe he is housebroken. He is good-natured, gets along fine with other dogs and we think he will do best with children old enough to respect his age. He is a very handsome dog and all he needs is a cozy bed and some good loving from a new owner. Because he is a senior the shelter given temperament test was not given and he will have to be “rescue only” at this time. Spikey is an awesome indoor pet for an individual or family living in a private home.
