MAGGIE is an exuberant 2-year-old fawn female Pit Bull and American Staffordshire Terrier mix who was found as a stray and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on September 2nd. Weighing approximately 50 lbs, Maggie is a staff and volunteer favourite. She has won over the hearts of everyone she has met. This classic beauty has earned the nickname “wiggle butt” because of her constantly wagging tail that runs all the way up her body! Maggie has shown signs of being housebroken and walks well on leash, but could benefit from additional basic training. Maggie did very well on her shelter administered temperament test, but should be supervised around smaller dogs. She was nonreactive when walked around the kennels by volunteers. Since she is currently in heat, one will get a better sense of her temperament once it is over. Maggie will make a phenomenal indoor companion for an adult family with bully breed experience living in a private home.

TARA is a delightful 3-year-old gray-and-white female Pit Bull mix who was found in Baldwin Park and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on August 24th. Weighing 51 lbs, Tara has an infectious enthusiasm for life! She has the bouncy playfulness of a puppy; though she enjoys playing with toys, she far prefers snuggling with her two-legged companions. Tara shows signs of being housebroken and “sits” for treats, but is otherwise a blank slate for puppy training basics. Tara could also benefit from additional socialization and training with other dogs due to her zeal and excitement. Tara will flourish best as an indoor companion in an active adult home with older children.
